Los Gatos, CA January 8 2004–Roving Networks Inc., a provider of intelligent network appliances utilizing Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and Belkin, the global leader in connectivity solutions, today announced the availability of the Bluetooth USBPrinter Adapter, a Bluetooth compatible printer adapter.
The Belkin Bluetooth Wireless USB Printer Adapter (F8T031) is a plug-and-play adapter that wirelessly enables any USB or parallel printer. Now, Bluetooth-enabled PocketPC and Palm PDAs, and PC users can use and share their favorite printer effortlessly, and without cables.
The F8T031 was co-developed with Roving Networks and will be available at major retail outlets and distributors in January 2004. The product features instant installation with no settings required, works using HCRP and SPP profiles, and includes over-the-air flash upgrade capability enabling support of future profiles and printer applications. The printer adapter enables printing with a wide range of emerging client devices enabled with Bluetooth wireless technology, such as mobile phones, digital cameras, PDAs, and notebook computers. Incorporating the recently released Bluetooth print technology, the printer adapter vastly simplifies the end-user’s wireless printing experience by eliminating the need for printer-specific drivers.

Available on January 22, 2004 in evaluation quantities, the product is priced at $ 99.99 per unit.
